In May, President Dina Boluarte made five changes to the Cabinet. Raúl Pérez-Reyes moved from the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF); retired PNP General Carlos Malaver was appointed Minister of the Interior; engineer César Sandoval Pozo, from the Alianza para el Progreso (APP) party, took over the MTC; and lawyer Juan Alcántara was appointed Minister of Justice and Human Rights following Eduardo Arana’s designation as President of the Council of Ministers.
